Volunteers Needed!

URGENTCommunion Service Volunteer Needed! – Did you know that volunteers from Sacred Heart host a Communion Service at Gateway every Sunday? This gift of time and sharing at Gateway is a great expression of God’s love for all. We are currently seeking volunteers to assist for one Sunday a month. If you would like to know more about volunteering for this ministry please call the parish office.

Care of Homebound

We are also looking for volunteers to help distribute communion to those that are homebound. Please call the parish office if this ministry is something you are interested in.

All parish volunteers would be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and the Safe Parish Community Pledge.

Procedure for Contacting a Priest in case of an Emergency

Hospital

If you or a family member has been admitted to the Hospital make sure to let them know at Patient Care that you are a Catholic and wish to be placed on the Catholic List.

While in hospital; if your family member is seriously ill or nearing death and you wish for a Priest to be called. Let a nurse know and they will contact the Priest on Call using a hospital pager.

Fr. Roger Lavoie visits all those on the Catholic List on Wednesdays at the Hospital.

Care Facilities under Northern HealthSimon Fraser Lodge, Laurier Manor, Gateway Complex, Gateway Assisted Living, Rainbows and Parkside

In you have a family member in any of the above mentioned homes and they are seriously ill or nearing death and they wish to see a priest. Contact a nurse and they will locate a priest using the Hospital pager.

Fr. Roger Lavoie visits Gateway Complex on Tuesdays. If your family member wishes to see a priest for a non-emergency such as communion or confession please contact the parish office.

Private Care HomesTwo River Lodge, Emmaus House, Shaffer Residence, Prince George Chateau, Fort George Manor, Alward Place, Rodica House and Asher Place

If you have a family member in any of the above mentioned homes and they are seriously ill or nearing death and they wish to see a priest. Contact a nurse and they will locate a priest using the Hospital Pager.

Fr. Roger Lavoie visits Two River Lodge on Tuesdays. If your family member wishes to see a priest for a non-emergency such as communion or confession please contact the parish office.

Hospice House

In you have a family member in Hospice House and they are seriously ill or nearing death and they wish to see a priest. Contact a nurse and they will locate a priest using the Hospital Pager.

Housebound

If you, or a family member are housebound and you wish for a priest top visit you please contact the Parish Office.

If you have a family member in any of the private care homes or they are homebound please inform the Parish Office. This will allow us to ensure your family member continues to be a part of the parish community.
